Daily writing prompt
If you had an unlimited budget for 24 hours, what would you do?

The term budget implies I can only spend it on certain things. So, let’s start there.

First, it’s unlikely any of that would be earmarked just for me. I’d love to say I’d use it to secure our future, but that’s not what it’s for. Someone gave me that and said use it for certain things. so, let’s start there.

We have several outfits in the world that could benefit from a good budget infusion.

One is the 608, a faith based store throughout the area that provides groceries for underprivileged families. I’d make sure their shelves were well stocked and their warehouse full. That’s a lot of semi’s full of food.

And I’d do the same for the Weld County, Larimer County, Morgan County, and Denver Metro Area food banks. For that matter, every food bank in America would be packed to the rafters with canned and boxed goods.

There’s a lot of school food programs that would receive the same attention. Despite everything, there’s still students and children in America who show up to school hungry. I’d make sure their programs were funded through trust funds for the next forever.

Our Faith in Action organization would receive tools, supplies, and a space to store things needed to help people who need home repairs but can’t pay for it. And we’d do the same for any such organization.

I’d make sure the Denver Rescue Mission in Denver and La Puente back home in Alamosa were adequately funded for another year.

And then since this is the ultimate fantasy, Every working man and woman in America would receive a free tank of gas, bus token, train fare, or however they get to work taken care of that day. And they’d also get a free cup of coffee, doughnut, and a gift card to have lunch at a nice resturant.

A bunch of villages in Peru would have roofing and an army of carpenters show up and fix their roofs. I’d also set up accounts to ensure they had access to medicine for the next ten years.

Pay off hospital bills for everyone in debt to the hospitals.

Make sure Cancer research gets funded for the next year.

I’d pay tuition for every college student for the next year.

Every home in America, Canada, Mexico, hell, let’s just say the world, would have Solar bought, paid for, and installed.

Everyone who needed a bed would have one.

And then I’d take my wife and I out for dinner, and then we’d change the world.

It’s nice to dream.
