I’ve been to some really nice airports. The ones I like the most?
Ronald Reagan is one of my favorites. Why? It’s small, easy to get around.
Same with Colorado Springs airport.
I fly to LA, then I fly into John Wayne.
I don’t mind DIA.
Favorite airport? Chicago OHare International. Easy to get around, comfortable, and last time I went through, had one of the best hot dog vendors I’d ever eaten at was running shop there.
Least favorite? That’s easy
Dallas/Fort Worth DFW. I don’t know what it is, but every time I fly through it, I get sick.

One midwinter I flew into DFW from Chicago, then had to dash through the joint to find my connecting flight to Waco. The Rio Airways aircraft was a high winged twin engine prop job straight out of the 40s and painted bright yellow. I feared for my life as we literally flew under the radar through fog and an ice storm. Never been back to DFW.
I try not to fly through it if I can.
I flew into Colorado Springs airport when I came home from Vietnam in October of 1970, Richard, because my parents lived there at the time. I didn’t feel any difficulties there. A few years ago, we flew into and out of Seattle, going to my sister’s funeral in West Richland, Washington. Seattle was the only airport where we climbed a staircase into the plane. I hadn’t done that since I got out of the Army.
Odd, I did that at John Wayne. I’ve pictures of us climbing a staircase into the 747 that flew us to and from the Gulf, so that much hasn’t changed. Come to think of it, I also climbed a staircase to board the only military transport (If you don’t count little planes) I ever flew on- caught a hope from Germany to the states on a C-5.
