The Gun!

If you asked me that question this time last year, I’d have said the answer would be nothing.

Funny how a few months changes things.

My answer now would be my Colt 1911. A pistol that has seen service in our nations armed forces for almost a hundred years. it’s been in almost every major war and theater of operations our nation’s military has been involved in. It’s a favorite sidearm among combat veterans.

And that’s why I bought one years ago.

Now, why best purchase? My Baby Love actually purchased it for me for my birthday. It’s a gift and she blessed me with it.

Aside from being a classic weapon and one that I’m highly proficient with, right now, it’s helping to keep the money coming in.

If anyone would have asked me if I’d ever put on any kind of uniform again, much less strap on a gun to make a living with, I’d have laughed at them.

Yet, here I am. Granted, I think of myself more as a concierge with a gun, but because I am licensed to carry a sidearm, I’m able to make a few more dollars an hour than others do.

So, I thank God, I not only own it, but know how to use it well.

It’s helping me to earn a living again.
