Daily writing prompt
Describe a random encounter with a stranger that stuck out positively to you.

I live in a nice neighborhood.

That said, they (meaning the bity), recently allowed a number of condos to be built in what used to be an open field. The road has been opened to the stores at the end of the road. And that meant more traffic.

And since it’s a well-known fact that the majority of the human race has no idea what a trash can is made for, the amount of roadside trash has increased. I don’t know how many Starbucks cups, Monster energy drink cans, McDonald hamburger wrappers I’ve picked up in front of my house.

I know a lot of people in my neighborhood have complained about the problem. City council has certainly heard our thoughts on the subject concerning the increased traffic and trash.

So, the other day, I run into this guy walking up and down the road. I know he lives in the area, but what got my attention was he was carrying a blue bucket from Lowes and a grabit.

He’s busy picking up not only the cans and wrappers, but cigarette butts, caps, and so on.

I stopped him and thanked him and then thought to myself, I walk almost every day. How come I never did that? How hard would it be to grab a bucket and a grabber (I have both) and help out?

So, I’m joining forces to keep out little corner of the universe cleaned up.

Moral of the story – If you’re going to bitch and moan about something, stop. Be the solution. Get off your butt and do something about it. And if it means doing it yourself, then do it.
