Bicycle. Definitly.
Back in the day, I was quite the cyclist. I rode a 10 speed all over Kansas and all over Germany. My idea was find a trail and see where it goes.

One of my greatest physical challenges was to raise money for MS, and what I wanted to do was ride two hundred miles in a single fifteen hour period. I fell short by 43 miles.
I was a late comer to bikes. I didn’t learn to ride one until I was almost ten. I’d always like running. I like bikes even more. I got pretty good at it. Since I’d developed into a good swimmer in the Army, I’d always planned on doing a triathlon.
That never happened.
That didn’t stop me from dreaming and so I’d love to try crossing the country on a bike. Start in Maine, and sticking to the backroads, aim for California.
Where did I get that stupid idea?
A movie no one has ever heard of called American Flyers. Two brothers enter a bicycle race here in Colorado. The movie really spoke to me.
So, maybe when I’m 80, I’ll give it a try.
Why then?
I’ve made a life of doing things that people said are stupid (translation, impossible to achieve).
Why stop now!

Wow! Great ride. I’m more of a casual rider with a great bike.

Doing over 10 mph on a bike for 15 hours is pretty darn good, William! I’ve never done that.

I did it at Camp Funston. I started at flag call from out Barracks at main post, rode out there and went around and around. It was actually kind of entertaining. The Kansas national Guard was swapping out their old tanks for new M-1s, and did I get to see some antiques. There were actually a couple of old

sorry, cut myself off. There were actually a couple of old M-48 tanks, still running, looking awesome that were turned in that day.
