It’s a tie between Science and History.
But if forced to choose, I’d say History.
Don’t get me wrong. I love science. I love learning how the Universe works. But I’m also not that terribly great at math and that caused me to eat a lot of Tums.
History never gave me that problem. Granted, I could care less about the dates. What I cared about was the people involved. Why did they do what they did? How did they live? What did they think and feel?
A good example of something that combined both was an Episode on Nova, the Planets – Saturn. It covered the Cassini mission closely, but it wasn’t all about the probe or the science. It was as much about the people involved and what they thought and felt. Many of these folks had a fair chunk of their lives invested in the mission. As a result, a totally heartbreaking moment in the story was when the mission ended. The lady that was the flight controller was supposed to call “End of Mission” after Cassini burnt up. She said she couldn’t do it.
So, if you can put the two together?
Magic.

Science is part of history, but the people catch your attention more.

True. To many times we lose the people behind the facts.
