Daily writing prompt
You’re writing your autobiography. What’s your opening sentence?

Sure why not. But in this case, more a couple of paragraphs.

“When I was a child, I looked around and saw how boring everyone’s lives were. They did the same thing. Got up every morning at the same time. They drank the same coffee from the same mug prepared the same way.

“They went to the same job day in and day out. They took the same route.

“They came home and ate the same supper at the same time. Then they sat down and watched the same TV shows only to fall asleep in front of the tube.

“And they got up and did it over and over and over again.

“Makes sense that half the adults I knew were hopeless alcoholics!

“Sundays we went to church. I remember kneeling in the pew, and I realized everyone sat in the same places every Sunday. Even church was a reflection of the endless reruns of their lives.

“I turned back and looked at the front of the church where the Altar was. And I prayed, ‘Dear God. Whatever happens, please don’t let me lead a boring life.’

“I just know the minutes I made that prayer, God the Father smiled and said, ‘Okay, Mr. Adventure. Buckle up!’

“I got what I prayed for!”
