This is a continuation of an interview with Sheriff Will Diaz. Will Diaz is the central character in a series of books by the Author called The LawMan. Currently there’s four novels with a fifth scheduled for release around Christmas of 2025.

Rich Muniz: I agree, Sheriff. Kissing her hand was smooth. (I chuckle)

Sheriff Will Diaz: Like I said. I didn’t know what else to do. There was just something about her that demanded I treat her like royalty.

Muniz: But when did you actually fall in love with her.

Sheriff Diaz: I’m glad to see you understand there’s a difference between physical attraction and Love.

“There was something about her that demanded I treat her like royalty.”

Muniz: I hope so. But getting back to the question.

Sheriff Diaz: About a week later, I asked her for coffee. We met at the Monte Villa Inn Coffee Shop. We talked for about an hour, but what did it was when we left. Main street in Monte Vista had these old-style light poles running up and down it. Anyway, she grabs hold of one and started twirling around it like a little girl might.

I was a goner. That was over thirty years ago.

Muniz: That easy.

Sheriff Diaz: That easy.

Muniz: And?

Sheriff Diaz: I rented a trailer she owned and part of the deal was the help around the place. I learned a lot about her in that time. She was a single mom. She played in a band. She worked as a paralegal. And she was working on her Masters in psychology.

The Book that starts the series. Will Diaz meets Jewell Ibarri. It’s the start of an epic romance. Click on the book cover to learn about it.

Muniz: Sounds like she had the corner on being busy.

Sheriff Diaz: She made me look like I was standing still.

Muniz: You said she was a single mom?

Sheriff Diaz: Yes. She has two girls.

Muniz: How soon did you meet them?

Sheriff Diaz: It took a couple of months before we were actually formally introduced. My son was playing with them long before that.

Muniz: Didn’t that bother you. That you didn’t meet them right away?

Sheriff Diaz: Not at all. We might have been dating, but she had to make sure I was going to be around. Why try building a relationship with someone who’s going to be gone tomorrow. And then she had to know she could trust me around them.

Muniz: Trust you? You’re a cop for pete’s sake. You had a top-secret clearance.

Sheriff Diaz: So? That doesn’t mean I could be a cop with a top-secret clearance who was also a perv.

Muniz: I see. I guess I can agree with that. But what convinced you to really start thinking of her as your wife.

Sheriff Diaz: She asked me the single most important question in my life.

Muniz: What was that?

Sheriff Diaz: She asked if I believed in God.
