Daily writing prompt
Do you practice religion?

The Webster definition of religion:

I wouldn’t say I practice it.

I live it!

I serve and worship Yahweh or as most people call him, God. I follow the teaching of Jesus or Yeshua, And I’m filled with the Holy Spirit.

Does that mean I’ve checked my brain at the door. Nope.

I enjoy reading his word. What I’m looking for is how it impacts me.

I enjoy exploring the universe he built. I know some people say science and religion don’t mix. From where I sit, Faith is knowing God made it. Science is the examination of the two by fours and nails used to put it all together. To me, that’s a profound form of worship. An example was the first time I peered at a globular cluster through a large telescope. The view was so breathtaking I couldn’t help but be filled with awe.

But if there one thing I learned from following Jesus, it’s this. It’s not about me. It’s about being him in this world. It’s about helping my neighbor. It’s about showing love, not hate. It’s about leaving this world a little better than I found it.

That only place it know that is about me is that belief makes me a better person.

I already know who I am at my worst. And that guy is a little frightening.

And following Christ is the only way I’ve found to be that better person.
