NOTE: I’ll be picking up the Fly Girls soon. There’s some pieces I’m trying to reconcile in my research. In the meantime – Don’t touch that dial! And how many of you remember that?
One of my all-time favorite movies is American Flyers, a very early Kevin Costner movie. It’s about two brothers entering a fictional bike race called the Hell of the West. Something about it always made me want to try biking across America.
But I don’t think I could do that these days. To dang old.
So, in answer to that question. Car.
And I’d say I want to start with A and end a Z, and anywhere between is up for grabs.
Find these little out of the way towns and try the cheeseburgers in the local diner. Or visit these places no one has ever bothered to talk about much. Check out off the beaten path antique stores and cities and learn about the history of them. Stop and look at the historical markers we normally zip past.
Stop in a town as ask things like when was it founded? Who founded it? Tells me about the hometown hero’s. Where’s the best vanilla shake to be had?Stop and fill up a hundred cards on my camera.
And do it all with my beautiful Baby and our puppies!
Yeah. That would be an adventure!

We’ve talked about it. Rent or buy a small RV and call it good.
