Life’s Journey: Beyond Fate and Destiny

I use to have this poster. It was Calvin from Calvin and Hobbs fame. he’s looking at us, a look on his face. The caption reads, “God put me on this planet to do a certain number of things. And I’m so far behind, I’ll never die!”

When we talk about destiny and fate, I don’t believe in it. While I may never be fated to be voted the best looking guy in the world (I’ve seen those guys. Got news for them. I make them look like dogs. No humility here!).

I may also never be destined to be counted among the wise.

Yes. I am destined to die. Surprise!

But it’s what happens in between that I have some control over. And that’s where the true magic is.

It’s not the destination that counts. It’s the journey.

And it’s been one fun ride!
