Daily writing prompt
Describe an item you were incredibly attached to as a youth. What became of it?

When I was twelve, I saw 2001: A space Odyssey. To say it blew me away doesn’t do it justice. But the movie introduced me to something I’d never listened to and that was Classical Music. It began a love affair with Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, all the biggies.

A few days later, I saw the soundtrack to the movie at J.C. Penny’s. I bought it.

I played it, till I went to college.

I played it after I got to college.

I played it when I was a cop.

I played it when I was a soldier.

I wore it out.

I still have it.

And even if it skips and hisses spilled on a hot stove. In short, the vinyl is a wreck because I’ve played it so much.

I’d never consider getting rid of it.
