Daily writing prompt
What’s the most money you’ve ever spent on a meal? Was it worth it?

I was working Emergency Management at the time.

When I had to go out of town, Julie almost always went with me. There was a meeting held in Aspen, Colorado during ski season. We were put up in a nice hotel just outside of town. Truth be told, I recall very little about the meeting.

But there was a bright star to it. One night, Julie and I drove into nearby Aspen for supper.

I don’t recall the name of the restaurant, but it was very nice. There was a fireplace near where we were seated. Normally, I’m not a huge fan of restaurants. They’re noisy and when you’re hard of hearing, that counts for or against your dining experience. The place was full, but I had no problems conversing with my wife.

I had trout for supper and Julie had shrimp. We each had a glass of wine with our meal. Our night out cost us over a hundred and twenty dollars.

But considering the restaurant and the company, it was well worth it.

Oh. The trout was perfect!
