List 10 things you know to be absolutely certain.

There’s several things. Most are good, most not so good.

Here goes:

• 1: God loves me. Considering the things I’ve done, I don’t have a clue why.
• 2: Love lasts forever.
• 3: Dogs do go to heaven.
• 4: On that subject. There is a heaven. And there is a hell. And if war is hell, then war is war and hell is hell. And war is worse because there are no innocent bystanders in hell.
• 5: A human being should be able to a number of things and do them well. Specialization is for insects.
• 6: People will always live up to their lowest common denominator. Love them anyway.
• 7: Every hand is a winner. And every hand a loser. You got to play the cards to find out which.
• 8: Hard things can easily be done. Impossible things just take longer.
• 9: Only I can make me happy.
• 10: God loves you. Don’t ask me why!
