When they finally wheel me into the home, my goal is to be the most interesting person there.
I figure I’ve got most of them beat.
I’ve loved a woman with an intensity most people would never understand.
I’ve wonderful children.
I aimed for the stars and missed. Didn’t stop me from loving it anyway.
I matched wits with crooks and brought them to justice.
I’ve been shot at.
I’ve been beat up.
I’ve been dead once.
I’ve walked away from things I had no right to walk away from.
I’ve seen war.
I’ve seen heartache.
I’ve seen victory.
I’ve seen defeat.
Hell, they’ll probably just think I’m a demented old man and haven’t a clue what I’m talking about.
