Why I Choose Faith Instead of Religion

I practice being a Christ follower.

Religion is a set of beliefs and practices of a group. It’s a something that people are comfortable with.

I don’t want a bunch of rules and regulations between me and God. It’s a little like the old days when there was a curtain between the people and the Holy of Holies. Only the Priest was allowed to go in there. It was a separation of God from the People or in this case, Self.

I don’t want to be separated from God. I want to know God the Father, the Son, and The Holy Spirit. I want to know about them like I would a friend. I want to see myself through their eyes. I know I’ll always come up short, but that’s called honesty.

And it’s about me seeing Them with my eyes and heart. It’s about me asking questions. About me being confronted. About me understanding and making that a part of me.

It’s about being in love with the maker of all things.
