Do I remember life before the internet!
Oh yeah. I sure do.
There was this awesome thing called the Library. If you could use the card catalog you could learn anything you wanted.
There was another thing called talking. People sat in chairs and actually talked. You saw the persons face. And if you disagreed with them, you had a fight, called each other names and maybe traded a few blows. Then you went out and had a beer!
And if something interested me, I wasn’t subjected to algorithms that decided what to show me. I selected it and wasn’t at the mercies of Group-Think.
And television! We got three channels and we always complained there was nothing worth watching. And if the President was on, your night was shot.
Today, we get thousands of channels and there is still nothing worth watching. And if the President is on, we simply curse and change the channel to something not worth watching.
Truth be told. I miss that world.
