Gee, the answer to that would fill a novel.
Four (so far) actually. Writing is almost always good therapy. It allows us to drag out all the muck in our hearts and souls and deal with it. It lets us that our high spiritual beliefs and see how we measure up. It allows us to take our failures and learn from them. It also allows us to take our successes and see if they made us stronger.

The trouble is, Life is one heck of teacher. You get the test first. And if you live through it, the lesson afterwards.
Here’s a few:
- Test – Being covered with someone else blood and then apologizing because you couldn’t save that person. Lesson – You’re not God. You did your best.
- Test – Running 26.2 miles is impossible. Lesson – Don’t look at the race as a whole. Break it down into small destinations. (Get to that next light pole). That way, the impossible becomes possible.
- Test – Getting injured in the line of duty or failing at something. Lesson – Your measure isn’t how fast you can be knocked down. Your measure is how long you stay down.
- Test – Words are worse then sticks and stones. Lesson – I’m made in the image of the One True King. I’m an heir to creation. Unless there’s life in your words, they don’t matter.
- Test – It’s impossible. Lesson (when having done the impossible) – Wow. That was easy.
- Test – No one can love me after what I’ve done. Lesson – Boy, were you wrong! You’re the one who thought that. Not those around you.
- Test – Your dreams mean nothing. Lesson – What’s life without trying to reach your dreams. It’s a rut. And we all know a rut is just a grave with the ends kicked out.
Just a few.
