One of the biggest hassles I’ve encountered is keeping up with my characters. Not so much in what they’re doing, but who they are. It’s the little things like:

  • What color are their eyes?
  • Did they go to college, and if so where, and what did they study? Did they get a degree?
  • What is their home like, and so on?

I was starting to put all this information into a spreadsheet, but that was starting to get a little difficult to keep track of. I tried a blackboard and that was even worse.

Basically, it’s a word document file you put your information into, and then save it under the character’s name.
